Trend Focus- New Season Trends to Fall For

Posted: Sep 18 2014

5 things you’ll be wearing this fall

We know you’re busy and, somewhere in between socializing and holding down a 9-5, you still want to make sure your style earns you compliments and makes you feel a million dollars. So, we’ve tried to make it easy for you. (Don’t say we don’t love you.)

It’s time to start clearing some space in your closet, because here’s 5 style upgrades you won’t be able to live without this season. Buy them now and you’ll still be wearing them in three months time. Believe us.

  1. Check. Mate.

Tartans, plaids, checks – whatever you want to call them they’re going nowhere fast. Ever since Saint Laurent debuted tartan babydolls last fall, the trend for this print has only gained momentum. This season DKNY and Simone Rocha join the party with sleek tartans. Has there ever been a better print for keeping cozy in this fall? We recommend that if you don’t already have a plaid shirt you go and buy one stat, and maybe this red blazer too.

  1. Seeing Red.

If there’s one color you need to start to adding to your wardrobe, it’s red. I mean, Tom Ford, Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana, know what they’re doing. So, however you go about it, adding a splash of color to your everyday style is pretty straightforward and takes minimal overhaul of your signature look. So, what are you waiting for? Why not try these as a place to start?

  1. Winter Pastels

Remember last year’s rush to buy a pastel pink coat? Well this year pastels are back, but instead of pink look to baby blue, pistachio green and lemon yellow for a fresh take on these candy colored hues. But don’t be dismayed, your pink pastel coat is still in with the in-crowd. In need of style-spiration? Think Chanel, Fendi and Dior.

  1. Get your knits

Chunky, oversized and achingly cozy. The jumper is humble no more. Look for touchy-feely styles, roll neck or extra wide sleeves to score you extra points and start leaving your coat at home. However here at Terminology, you know we’re partial to vintage, so we’re going to be investing in classic retro designs. Here are a few to start upgrading your collection of warm and winter-ready woollens.

  1. All that glitters

Embellishment is the new buzzword of the season. Overdose on decadent sequins, sparkling jewels and glossy metallics. Or, if this all seems a bit much, treat yourself to a jewelled necklace, pair of earrings or start with an embellished sweater just like this.
